Camaro Fest, Cars in the Park, and Old Timer Races. The Kansas City car show, car cruise, and car racing events calendar for August 19, 20, 21, 2011

We are right in the heart of car show season here in Kansas City, with big events happening all over the area.

Among the must-attend events this weekend, there’s the Midwest Camaro Fest (this year moved to the Riverside Red-X while the E.H.Young Park dries out), the Cars in the Park show at Shawnee Mission Park, and the Dearborn Classic. There are also cruises in Platte City, Overland Park, Lees Summit, and all points in-between.

If you like car racing, the Old Timers are going to hold their annual event at I-35 Speedway this year since Lakeside is still a little moist from the flooding, you could check out several other local tracks, or watch the NASCAR stars and cars in Michigan and Montreal.

Need more details? We’ve got details. Just check out the full calendar of events below.

NASCAR on Television

After some wild crashes and a few temper tantrums on the road course at a rain-delayed Watkins Glen earlier in the week, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series moves to the fast, but decidedly less action-packed two-mile oval of Michigan International Raceway this Sunday, along with the Truck Series.

Meanwhile, the Nationwide Series runs back-to-back road course events, when they take to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.

Saturday, August 20. Brooklyn, Mich. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series VFW 200. Michigan International Raceway. 1:30 p.m. (c/t). SPEED TV.

Saturday, August 20. Montreal, Canada. NASCAR Nationwide Series NAPA Auto Parts 200. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. 1:30 p.m. (c/t). ESPN TV.

Sunday, August 21. Brooklyn, Mich. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400. Michigan International Raceway. 12:00 noon (c/t). ESPN TV.
