New Malibus in KCK, old Chevelles in Olathe, church fundraisers, city festivals, and more. The Kansas City car show, car cruise, and car racing calendar for September 23, 24, 25, 2011

Some of the big car events are starting to get X-ed off the calendar for the year, but there are still some worthwhile shows and activities that you can attend before the snow falls.

If you like new cars, you can go out and see how the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick Lacrosse are built at the Fairfax Open House this Thursday. If you like old cars, you can go to the big Belton Cruise on Saturday night. If you like race cars, you can go help the crew cleanup some of the flood damage at Lakeside Speedway this Saturday.

Some of the most perfect weather of the entire year happens right now in Kansas City. There is no better time to attend a car show, car cruise, or car race. This weekend’s full weekend schedule of events is listed below.

Tony Stewart was able to win on fuel mileage at the rain-delayed first event of the Chase for the Sprint Cup in Chicago earlier this week. Up next, the most pressure-packed part of the season continues in Loudon, N.H. Expect a mixture of strategy, patience, tempers, and action, because every position counts as the final nine races determine the season champ. The Nationwide Series gets the weekend off.  http://www.nascar.com/
