Van show reveals that a van might be a comfortable way to enjoy a car show

In our never-ending quest to bring you a variety of automotive events, this Saturday we made a stop at the Vonarchy Vans and Vans R Us clubs' van, truck, and panel show at the Ranch Bowl in Kansas City, Kan.

As I understand it, some of the trucks and vans had left by the time we made it there, but there were still quite a few folks taking in the cool fall evening.

I think a van might be a good thing to bring to a car show. If it rains, you can just hang out inside, maybe sit in the captain's chairs and play a game of cards. There's lots of room for folding chairs, pop-up tents, and snacks. If you get tired, a lot of the old conversion vans had seats that made into beds. These guys might just be on to something.

The old early Chevy vans and Econolines that look like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine seem to be pretty popular among these guys. I know these things weren't really great to drive when they were new, so I'm not sure I'd want one with 40-years worth of use on it. On the other hand, they are so much different than anything we have today, they do have sort of a nostalgic aura around them.

There were also a few trucks out there, which is something I can relate to. There was about a '65 Chevy panel truck out there that I guess I'd consider to be the star of the show. It was clear that lots of time and money went into the restoration of that rig.

At any rate, I didn't want to leave you guys hangin' on Easter weekend with nothing to look at, so I snapped a few pictures from the show, and you can check them out below.
