Happy times at Happy Days Dream Cars

Some of the best places to go look at old cars in the Kansas City area during the winter are at the dealerships that specialize in them.  This week, my dad and I went down to Warrensburg, Mo., and checked out the inventory at Happy Days Dream Cars.  The selection was a little light because they recently sold several of their cars at the Mecum collector car auction in Kansas City, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t several interesting things to look at.  Let’s check out a few of the cars that could be yours come car show season.

I’m a diehard Chevy truck guy.  Always have been.  So when the nice folks at Chrysler delivered this 2013 Ram 1500 SLT Crew Cab 4X4 to let me try out for a week, I really didn’t want to like it.  But dammit, this truck was too good not to like.  Why did they have to go and mess with everything I believe in?

The KC Classic Auto Display has cars that are fun to look at and fun to own

I really do like looking around at the KC Classic Auto Display in Lenexa.  And when you get a weekend like the one we just had, there really aren’t any car shows around here.  That’s where a place like this really fits the bill.

This place typically doesn’t deal in blue chip collector cars, although sometimes a Shelby Mustang or GTO Judge does find its way into the dank warehouse.  More likely, you’ll see cars that you can have fun with; cars with character.  This isn’t Saturday night at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.  This is Friday afternoon at the Adesa Kansas City Specialty Car Sale.  And in some ways, the cars are more interesting to look at because of this.
